Who where the ‘Mods’? This youth cult introduced the world to a new style, fashion and music from the late 1950s through the early 1960s. The influence of Mod style and culture is still having an impact today. The greatest of all Mod bands were The Who.

HIGHLIGHTS OF YOUR MOD/THE WHO SOHO WALK CAN INCLUDE: a variety of former clubs and venues including The Marquee, where the The Who’s Tuesday Nights 23 week residency set them on their path to stardom; The Scene (then The Who still known as the High Numbers,) Jack of Clubs, Le Disc, The Flamingo, Pickwicks, Ken Coyler’s Studio 51, The Ad Lib, Beatles’ Savile Theatre, Archer St casino, St Moritz…; where The Who debuted Tommy; guitars shops and former recording studios along London’s famed ‘Tin Pan Alley;’ place that was the song inspiration for Who Are You?; former recording studios and Track Records offices; former Anim offices, Animals and Jimi Hendrix; Pete Townsend’s one time flat where many songs were conceived/demos made including Happy Jack; The London Palladium and swingin’ Carnaby Street, a central location for many bands especially Small Faces…

This suggested itinerary is flexible to best suit your interests; the core route is approx 3 miles with several break options along the way. Public transport options are also possible. This is a ‘half day’ 4 hour max suggested walking tour itinerary.
Time permitting, an optional finale to your walk via public transport is what was the place where we lost Keith Moon in 1978, Harry Nilsson’s flat in Mayfair, the place we also lost Mama Cass Elliot in 1974. This is around the corner from the very 1st original Hard Rock Cafe Old Park Lane, where Pete Townsend was among the first to hang up his guitar, kicking off their rock memorabilia collection…
