‘Mad’chester Music Tour — Manchester UK featuring Oasis 2025

In celebration of Oasis’ 2025 reunion summer tour, London Rock Tour recommends a pilgrimage to Manchester UK, just 2 hours away by train. And our tour partner there offers some magic music city tours, on the trail of Oasis.

Of course, as this is your own private tailor made tour, your ‘Mad-chester special’ can include your choice of Oasis, Stone Roses, The Smiths, Joy Division… or even delve back further to when Bob Dylan went electric for the first time in UK at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall — yes, the ‘Judas’ show!

Craig Gill, the Inspiral Carpets’ drummer, built up a series of music tours over the years to reflect the popularity of some of Manchester’s most celebrated music exports and celebrate the creativity that has come from his music mad hometown, the city of Manchester.

OASIS IN MANCHESTER — Acclaimed by Noel and Liam themselves, the tour includes visits to the iconic Boardwalk where the band rehearsed and performed their first gig. Canal Bar, where Oasis played their, now legendary, performance that changed the lives of normal working class lads into rock stars. Paul Arthur’s (Bonehead) house which was used for the photo shoot for the Definitely Maybe sleeve artwork and used for the promo video for the Shakermaker single. You will also get the chance to purchase vinyl from Mister Sifter himself, a visit to Sifter’s records shop! (Half day vehicle/driver/guide tour option)

OR MAKE IT A FULL DAY MAD-CHESTER DAY OUT — With world-famous bands and venues including The Hacienda, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Joy Division, Factory and others, as well as Oasis, this tour is unmissable for anyone with an interest in music or the ‘Madchester’ period.

More iconic places around Manchester’s music scene include:

Strangeways prison, which became instantly recognisable by Smiths fans around the world after the album entitled ‘Strangeways Here We Come’.

Salford Lads Club – synonymous with the band because of Stephen Wright’s iconic picture on the sleeve of The Queen is Dead LP.

The Epping Walk Bridge, also known as ‘the Joy Division Bridge’ – Kevin Cummins took Joy Division’s most iconic photograph in 1979.

The home of director Alan Erasmus where Factory Records established their headquarters in 1979.

International 1 – The Stone Roses played their first Manchester gig at this venue in May 1985.
