Over the Hills and Far Away …
A fantastic journey of discovery for all Led Zep fans, through the West Country, Wales and the English Midlands. This is a wonderful opportunity of seeing some pretty and historic parts of England and Wales while indulging our passion for the World’s Greatest Rock Band!
SUGGESTED ITINERARY FOR PRIVATE DEPARTURES
If you have 2 or 3 days, then you can have a nice adventure around West London, Reading, Windsor and South Wales OR The Midland of Plant & Bonham. To include both Wales and the Midland/Birmingham area, then we recommend at least 3 or even 4 days. If you want to include all of these place and also North Wales, Bron Yr Aur etc, then a week is strong recommended for comfort’s sake, but obviously you could spend longer to really soak in the Welsh countryside!
SAMPLE ITINERARIES INCLUDE:
ZEP 2 day WEEKEND – South Wales option
Day 1 – start in London, head directly to Jimmy Page’s former ‘haunts’ in and around Windsor and Pangbourne. Time and interest permitting, perhaps some time in George Harrison’s former village of Henley on Thames before making our way across the bridge into South Wales.
Stay: Usk area, South Wales
Day 2 – South Wales today, visiting Raglan Castle, as seen in Robert Plant’s dream segment in ‘The Song Remains the Same’ film. Also in this area, though at present not opened to the public, is the legendary recording studios of Rockfield. This area of Monmouthshire, Wales is full of charming market towns. Headed leisurely back to London, our route takes us via the stunning Black Mountains and the English Cotswolds. Return to London by early evening.
ZEP 2 day WEEKEND – Midlands option
Day 1 – start in London, head directly to Jimmy Page’s former ‘haunts’ in and around Windsor and Pangbourne. Later, a motorway drive north to Birmingham. This evening is the opportunity to hit the city nightlife!
Stay: Birmingham BB
Day 2 – Places of Robert Plant’s & John Bonham’s early years around Wolverhampton, Dudley and Birmingham; visit John Bonham’s grave in Rushock before the motorway drive back to London, Return to London by early evening.
ZEP 3 day WEEKEND
Day 1 – start in London, head directly to Jimmy Page’s former ‘haunts’ in and around Windsor and Pangbourne. Time and interest permitting, perhaps some time in George Harrison’s former village of Henley on Thames before making our way across the bridge into South Wales.

Day 2 – South Wales today, visiting Raglan Castle, as seen in Robert Plant’s dream segment in ‘The Song Remains the Same’ film. Travel through the stunning Welsh-English borders scenery to Zep locations in the Midlands, seeking out Robert Plant’s & John Bonham’s Wolverhampton, Dudley and Birmingham. This evening is the opportunity to hit the city nightlife!
Stay: Birmingham BB
Day 3 – Visit John Bonham’s grave in Rushock; option to break up the long drive back to London in your choice of Stratford Upon Avon or the Cotswolds villages. Return to London by early evening.
ZEP WEEK ADVENTURE – Day 1
Windsor, option of Henley on Thames, Pangbourne…then across the bridge to overnight location in South Wales
Stay: Usk area, South Wales
ZEP WEEK ADVENTURE – Day 2
We focus on Wales today with Raglan Castle (Plant’s ‘Song Remains the Same’ dream sequence) in Monmouthshire; touring through lovely Welsh scenery and market towns into North Wales
Stay: Machynlleth area, North Wales BB
ZEP WEEK ADVENTURE – Day 3
North Wales Led Zep Trail – Bron-Yr-Aur, Machynlleth, Corris Slate Mine, Aberdovey, Aberystwyth, Glyndwr Hotel
Stay: Machynlleth area, North Wales BB (same property as above)
ZEP WEEK ADVENTURE – Day 4
Depart Wales for the Midlands of England, focusing on Wolverhampton, Dudley and Birmingham. This evening is the opportunity to hit the city nightlife!
Stay: Birmingham BB
ZEP WEEK ADVENTURE – Day 5
Rushock, option to break up the long drive back to London in Stratford Upon Avon; London Zep places as time permits OR book a separate Central London rock and roll adventure (heaps of choice in the capital!)
Stay: London BB – London accommodation can be included in your package or separate
The multi day tour package would basically be your flat daily hire of vehicle/driver/guide + your accommodation + driver/guide accommodation with meal package. That is the basic core, then you have the option to add in entrance fees (or pay directly as you go) and meals (or again, pay directly as you go.) You could do anything from a small b&b or a luxury castle or any level of accommodation in between – or a combination there of. Your choice. It is a custom tour package designed just for you.
Private tours are the date/time of your choice, provided we have a vehicle and driver/guide available. A private tour is just yourselves with the personal services of driver/guide. It is a flat rate for the hire of vehicle/driver/guide.
